5 Fun Filled Activities To Do With The Kids This Fall If You’re Single

5 Fun Filled Activities To Do With The Kids This Fall If You’re SingleSummer is over, and we are well into the fall season. That means you are probably spending a lot more time indoors. In addition, you may be home schooling your children while attempting to work from home yourself. If you are like most parents in Massachusetts, you’re going a bit stir crazy to say the least. The good news is that there are plenty of things that you can do in order to entertain the troops. So without further ado, here are five (5) fun filled activities to do with the kids this fall.

Apple Picking

Apple picking can provide hours of fun for both the children and yourself. As an added bonus, there are many apple orchids in MA in which to choose from. That being stated, conduct a bit of research first. Some apple orchards allow children to climb the trees while others do not. If your kids are looking forward to climbing the trees it will be a huge disappointment if the orchard you choose does not allow it. It’s always best to check with the orchard ahead of time.

Bake A Pie

Most kids love to help their parents in the kitchen, especially if you make a big deal about it and plan for the activity so they have something to look forward to. Keep in mind that your children are going to make a mess, and that they are going to have a great deal of fun making that mess. Since fall is pie making and eating season, you might as well bake a pie. The added bonus, in addition to having a delicious pie, is that you can use the apples that you just picked.

Foliage Tour

New England is by far the best location to take a foliage tour. In fact, people come from all over the country and all over the world to see the foliage as the leaves change from green to a full spectrum of beautiful colors. The good news is that people who live in Massachusetts are at the epicenter of it all. Simply pack up a picnic lunch, grab the kids, jump into the car, and away you go. Encourage the kids to take pictures of the scenery so they don’t get bored.

Make A Scarecrow

Did you know that you don’t need to be a farmer to make a scarecrow? You don’t even need to use it to scare the crows away. However, making a scarecrow can be a fun filled family activity that the kids will love. Look for an old shirt, an old pair of pants, and a hat that you no longer care about, along with a bunch of leaves or a bail of hay.

Decorate The Yard For Halloween

Halloween is the best part of the fall for many people, especially children. However, due to the current pandemic, some cities and towns across Massachusetts are not encouraging trick or treating. That certainly doesn’t mean that you can’t decorate you yard though. Encourage the kids to get creative, and don’t forget to use that scarecrow.
