Do you know who Comenity Bank is? In essence, they are the credit card company behind the store credit cards for many famous retailers across the United States. For example, if you have an Ann Taylor store credit card you actually have a Comenity Bank Credit card. Although Comenity Bank is not well known by name, they are actually in charge of hundreds of retail store brand credit cards for some of the most popular stores that you shop at. If you are late with your monthly credit card payments and or have a past due balance, Comenity Bank’s in-house collections and billing departments may be calling you from the following phone numbers….
800-675-5685
800-305-1215
800-695-1788
888-332-4728
855-506-2495

720-356-3688
732-806-3199
609-400-7010
614-754-4136
614-729-9025
These are just a few examples of the phone numbers that Comenity Bank’s in-house collections and billing departments use to contact people who are late on payments and or have a past due debt balance. In fact, they have been calling people from hundreds of different phone numbers. The reason why we bring this up is because Comenity Bank’s in-house collections and billing departments may be taking part in debt collection practices that are not allowed by the federal government.
For example, if Comenity Bank’s in-house collections and billing departments are using automated dialers, and or are making robo calls to your home phone or cell phone they must have your permission. In addition, if they are leaving messages on your home phone or cell phone, they must have your permission. That being stated, some of their representatives are using automated dialers and or are making robo calls without asking for your permission. Others are leaving messages without getting your permission first. You may not be aware of this, but if Comenity Bank’s in-house collections and billing departments are doing this to you there is something that you can do to make it stop.
The law is in your favor in this regard. You may also be entitled to upwards of $500 per incident. That is why there are multiple lawsuits against Comenity Bank’s in-house collections and billing departments. It is incredibly important to note that Comenity Bank’s in-house collections and billing departments are allowed to attempt to collect a debt from you if you owe them that debt. They have a right to do this. However, they must follow all of the rules as set forth by the federal government. In addition, anyone or any entity that is attempting to collect a debt from you are not allowed by law to take part in debt collector harassment.
If you are unsure whether or not you are a victim of debt harassment, we will provide you with some important details. Debt harassment occurs if the debt collector calls you at all hours of the day and night. They are only allowed to call you between 8 am and 9 pm unless you provide them with permission to call you earlier or later. Debt harassment also occurs when debt collectors threaten you in any way, including threats are complete and utter lies. For example, some debt collectors will threaten to have you arrested if you don’t pay the debt.
They may threaten to garnish your wages if you fail to pay your debt. You need to keep in mind that they can’t have you arrested or garnish your wages. It is illegal to even make those threats and tell those lies. Another tactic that some debt collectors will use is to threaten to inform your boss that you don’t pay your bills in order to make you look bad. Once again, they are not allowed to do this. You have consumer rights, and we can show you how to enact those rights.
